Acting President of Nigeria Commiserates With Late Chief Innocent Oparadike


The Acting President of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbanjo, SAN, has extends his heartfelt condolences to the family of Oparadike, the government and the people of Imo State on the death of a journalist and former Commissioner for Information and Culture in Imo State.

He stated this in a statement this Friday. The Ag. President also commiserates with the Nigeria Union of Journalist and the Nigeria Guild of Editors on the death of their colleague and one of the Nigeria’s brightest Journalists and thinkers.

 He said that the late Chief Oparadike will surely be remembered for a long time for his distinguished career as a journalist and as an administrator. He will be remembered by his colleague for his profound decency, boldness and uprightness.

Chief Operadike was an Editor of Nigeria Federal Government-owned News Nigeria Newspaper and Managing Director of Daily Times.

As Chief Oparadike, Mpidike Mbaitolu, is laid to rest, the Acting President urges “his associates in the media and the Anglican Communion where he served dutifully as Knight of Saint Christopher to honour his memory by upholding the virtues of hardwork, discipline, philanthropy and justice to which he was devoted until his death.”

He prays that the Lord will grant Chief Oparadike’s family the fortitude to bear the loss, and comfort all who mourn him.
