Today, the world is talking about digital and online marketing. Also, the world is talking of electronic commerce or e-commerce for short.
You may still ask yourself what is the differences between traditional marketing and digital marketing? Or you may say why should I use digital marketing for traditional marketing?
Here are some differences between the two.
(1) Medium
Traditional marketing makes use of bill board, flyers, posters, banners, T.V, and radio. However digital marketing utilises social media platform, classified adverts, affiliates marketing, display ads and other online platform.
(2) Speed
Traditional marketing lacks speed in terms of number of persons it can reach in minutes. But digital marketing can reach thousands of persons in minutes.
(3) Cost
The cost of organising a traditional marketing process is higher than digital marketing.
For example, if you want to advertise with a flyer, you will need to print thousands of flyers that will be distributed through stressful means. But for digital marketing, only one flyer will be required. And with that you can get to thousands of persons on the Internet without stress.
(4) Measurement
Traditional marketing cannot be easily quantified, therefore you cannot calculate the return of investment (ROI) and know the geographical location of your customers.
However, digital marketing is quantifiable. With google analytic and analysis provided in the social media platform for business page, you can easily quantity your marketing efforts and calculate your return on investments and know who are patronising your product.
