Dr Isa Pantami says NITDA collaborates with Microsoft to foster innovation and digitalisation of the public sector

Dr. Isa Pantami, NITDA boss posited that the collaboration between the agency and Microsoft is to foster innovation and digitalisation in Nigeria. Dr. Pantami stated this why signing a memorandum of understanding, MoU, with Microsoft boss, Akin Banuso.

Federal Government of Nigeria is not planning to be left behind in this fourth industrial revolution where technology strive.

The MoU signed will help NITDA to fight corruption, security, private sector led economic growth, job creation, youth training and skills development.

He said, “We are delighted to collaborate with Microsoft as regulators. Our mandate is to create the right policies that foster innovation and help build a robust digital economy.

“Nigeria is a forward thinking economy and one which is ready to compete in the fourth industrial revolution by having policies which drive growth and encourage investments.

“This is a positive move towards digitalisation of government processes and provides a tremendous opportunity to scale up citizen’s access to services and concurrently improve the quality of services.”

Mr Banuso who represented Microsoft expressed delight with the collaboration. He said that Microsoft has also collaborated with many other countries. The collaboration will discuss on global best practices on recent regulatory and policy development.
