Essential Smartphone is getting Android 8.1 update. Essential report this yesterday. At least two users of the smartphone has reported that they have received the update.
The Android 8.1 update includes google security patches, Bluetooth 5.0 certified, modem stability fixes, improve performance and bug fixes and proper handling of external game controller. In January, Essential rolled out security update for spectre and meltdown security flaws.
Essential phone was the first smartphone to have a notch. Its sells at $499 at the Essential website.
