Google has finally bring launchpad to Africa. And Lagos, Nigeria will be privilege to be where the first meetup will take place. Google Launchpad is a venture capital program where qualified tech startups are mentored, monitored and are further provided with seed/equity fund.
Google startup Launchpad Africa is now ready for applicants. To apply click HERE. From those that applied, Google will choose the best tech startups for the acceleration program. This best Africa startups will be matched with the best of Google, including Google’s people, advanced technologies as well as network.
This is the first time Google is taking the event to Africa. For now, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania and Uganda are the six countries whose tech startups can apply for the cohort. If you haven’t apply yet you can do so NOW. Google is however interest on tech startups that have already received seed funds.
The benefits for successful startups applicants are enormous. As part of the three months program, the best startups will received equity free support, access to Google’s engineers with monitory from over 20 teams, access to experts from Africa and Silicon Valley, three months of workspace in Lagos, PR training, and exposure through demo day events.
The closing date for the application is not known. Also, the date for the commencement of the program as not been communicated.
