The Nigerian Communication Commission, NCC, has convassed for the laboratory trial of 5G technology in Nigeria. NCC makes this plea at the ongoing Mobile World Congress, MWC, in Barcelona Spain. This report was made available by Tony Ojobo, the Director of Public Affairs, NCC. He was also at the congress.

During the visit, the Executive Vice Chairman of NCC, Professor Danbatta, stated clearly that “Digital Literacy is critical to driving digital lifestyle.”

Also, during the Ministerial program, the Director General of GSMA, Mr. Mat Granryd said that Mobile Technology is creating a better future. Fast forward, Nigeria is in need for 5G network. In a conversation on twitter between Jeremiah and Dennis. Jeremiah complained that he hates seeing Nigeria youth asking for direction to a location when this can be done with a smartphone.

In reply, Dennis mentioned the lack of internet connectivity in Nigeria. Mentioning that other countries in the world are looking forward to 5G while Nigeria is on 3G technology.

Nigerians are even finding it more difficult to use ordinary instant messaging apps on their phone due to poor networks and you are talking about Google Map.👎 5G was recently launched in Europe while Nigerians are still battling with epileptic 3G services. https://t.co/PCfHK6NwRX

So, NCC ensuring 5G trial in Nigeria will be a good step to curb this and other network issues confronted by Nigerians.
