Nigeria Internet Registration Association, NiRA along with two of it’s accredited domain registry in Nigeria were at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, LCCI event at EKO Hotel and Suites in VI Lagos. The event was
the 3rd edition of the Information Communication Technology Expo, ICTEL, Expo 2017. And was held from 25th to 27th of July 2017.
NiRA with the two accredited domain registry showcase the .ng domains in the Expo. The ICTEL Expo gave NiRA the opportunity to “enlighten visitors about the .ng brand which also gave the registrars the opportunity to promote their various packages.”

Commissioner Lagos State Ministry of Science and Technology; Mr. Olufemi Odubiyi, where among those present at the Expo, along with members of LCCI, exhibitors and various visitors.
NiRA is the body responsible for accrediting domain registry firms in Nigeria. All Country Code for Top Level Domain, ccTLD, are made available by the association. Nigeria now of Top Level Domains for various types of organisations. There are domains for education (edu.ng), non-profits organisations (org.ng), private businesses (.ng and .com.ng), government organisations (.gov.ng) and more.
Recently, the Nigerian Government band the use of foreign domain registry and web hosts companies by government organisations. Furthermore, the Auditor general of the Federation stated that all Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs to ensure that all Information Technology projects must passed through National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA). Clearance must also be collected from NITDA by the MDAs. Dailypost stated that the Auditor general also mandated his staff to request for NIDTA clearance form all MDAs while auditing their account.
