The Nigerian Stock Exchange, NSE, has launched Tier III data centre on 28th August, 2017. The data centre will provide cloud data space for stockbrokers and any company that is interest at low cost. The Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, was present at the commission of the state of the art Data centre.
The Minister commends the Exchange for their achievement. He said, “I am pleased with the strides the Exchange is taking in ensuring it is the best in Africa especially through technological innovations.”
Furthermore, Ade Bajomo, the Executive Director, Market Operations and Technology, NSE, says that data centres globally consumed 2 percent of the world’s energy and the operational expenses is usually high. Therefore, “At the Exchange, we have chosen our components and cooling strategy carefully to conserve energy,” he said.
NSE has continue to employ technology in the Exchange. Earlier, in 2013 the Exchange introduces X-GEN which is the fastest trading platform in Africa. From there, it as introduces other texhnology-driven platform such as TradeSmart, X-ISSUER and X-BOSS as well as X-Smart.
