The Nigerian stock exchange (NSE) is set to conduct a national eassay competition for 2016. The eassay which commence on Thursday September 1, 2016 will close on Friday, October 14, 2016. The competition is for students of all Senior Secondary Schools (SSS) in Nigeria and the topic for this year competition is “What is the biggest obstacle to saving and investing money and how can The Nigerian Stock Exchange help”. If you are in Senior Secondary School or your siblings, neighbor, close relatives are in SSS please encourage them to participate in this competion.
The competion is not a new one and has existed for the past sixteen years. The aim of this competion is to promote Financial Literacy among young ones in the federation. The participants are expected to write not more than 1,000 words on typesetting and email it to NSE though their mail. To submit your write up click here. Three winners are expected to emerge from this year competition. This winners will take home equity investments, University scholarship fund and personal laptops and tablets. In addition, the winners will also be honoured with a Clossing Gong ceremony. Furthermore, trophies, Desktop Computers and Printers will ne offered to the schools of the top three winners.

In 2015, a student, Chiamaka Nwajiaku of Sacred Heart College at Apapa, Lagos state won the first prize of the competition. She went home with N500,000 in scholarship fund for her University education, a laptop and N250,000 equity investment.
The second and third winner were Vivian Aneke of Government Day Secondary School, at Gwagwalada, Abuja and Kindness Jehu of All Saints College, Gombe respectively.
