Goals are objectives a business wants the achieve. The primary goal of any business is to earn profit. There are goals when achieved will not only give the business good public image but will also earn the business more customers.

There are goals when achieved will not only give the business good public image but will also earn the business more customers.

Company that gives to a community will earn reputation from that community and also more customer brand loyalty. So, startups should not focus on profit alone. Saying, its for the already well established businesses. Other goals must be considered while pursuing its profit objectives. Below are six goals tech startups should consider.

Startups should not focus on profit alone. Saying, its for the already well established businesses.

#1 Solve at least one problem in the society. Business is define as any lawful activities humans engaged in to make a living. I think it should be seen more than how it is defined. For one truth businesses also solve social and economic problems in the society.

Let looks at hawkers on the busy roads of Lagos especially when there is traffic. Many sells fruit juice, snacks and water. They may be doing it to meet their daily needs but the truth is that they are also solving basic problems right there. At the time when their is traffic, as a commuter, you’re may be stressed up and need some water or juice. That the hawkers right there to solve this need of yours. But to the hawker, he is selling to make a living.

That’s exactly what you should do as an entrepreneur in the tech startup industry.

#2 Increase in Market share. This goal is positively related to profit. The higher your tech startup market share, the higher the profit. Nigeria’s population is almost 193 million. While Nigerians that uses the internet hits 9.1 million in June 2017. That is a huge market. A 10 percent market share of it may be all you need to earn profit. But the higher the market share means higher profit. So, startups should include it as a goal to increase market share.

#4 Good Public Relationships. The public in general are made up of potential customers as well as potential investors. This is why maintaining a good public relationship is a most. Social media has been a useful tool to achieve this and tech startups in Nigeria are not lacking behind in this areas. Many of them, I new of, have their presence on the internet via twitter in particular and Facebook.

A good public image speaks for the business. And can lead to growth and development.

#5 Quality Customer Relationship. This is a most. Many companies have created customers service department so as to meet up with customers complaints. It is said that customers are the king of every business and rightly so. Even when they are wrong, you assume they are right and seek for ways to solve their none ending problems. Many businesses also have a social media account where they respond to customers needs and feedback. Do your tech startup has one, if so Kudos! to it.

#6 Quality Products and services. Is your product and services of good quality. If customers notice your product are not they will leave without looking back. It is necessary to ensure this is part of your startup goals. Quality product and services is also a way of giving to the communities where your business is located. Businesses that fails to provide quality product ends up in a fire that burns to destruction.
