Its interesting to note and I am also proud about it that two Nigerian Startups will be at the fifth class of the Google Launchedpad acceleration programme at San Francisco. Also, one South Africa tech startup Aerobotics was also chosen.
This is the first time Africa startups are pitching with Google Launchpad acceleration programme. Although, Google finally bring the program to Africa. Lagos, Nigeria been the first meetup for these acceleration programme beginning in February.
The event will be for six months starting from 29th of January, 2018. There will be two weeks of intensive training at San Francisco. The training will include mentoring from 30 plus teams across Google and expert mentors from top technology companies and venture capitalist in Silicon Valley and globally.
According to Google, the trainee will receive equity-free support, credit for Google products and media training, and continue to work closely with Google back in their home country.
Helium Health a heath startup and Pay later, a fintech startup were the two Nigeria startups selected. Ten startups were chosen from Asia, four from Europe and seven from Latin America. Twenty-four startups in all.
